I don’t have much to report for today, other than Christine worked all day. I went to the market in the morning. We’re getting to know our way around inside the tiny, cramped store. It’s always a madhouse in there. All the stock is delivered by many, many various vendors, and at the cash register are salespeople with these very fat binders that list all their products. In between checkouts, and often during checkout, the cashier lady is looking in these binders and telling the salesperson what she wants to order, mostly by yelling. Then, in addition to many customers, there are stock people getting products on the shelves. The aisles are just wide enough for one person, so shoppers and stockers are constantly doing this little dance to get around the store. Always an interesting experience to go shopping at the College Mini Market!
I did some testing for Christine and sat in on one GoToMeeting. During a second G2M, I fixed dinner, the first time trying out the little oven in the flat. I roasted some vegetables. We sat out on our little balcony eating dinner.
After dinner we went for a long walk to the Strand, the stretch along the Sliema harbor where the tour boats are. From there you get the lovely view of Valletta that is so famous. We sat on a bench watching the dusk turning to darkness and enjoyed the increasing golden glow of the Valletta city walls. I never tire of this view across the harbor.
